Intimate Outdoor Wedding in Nashville | Molly + Jake
Molly and Jake’s Intimate Outdoor Tennessee Wedding
I met Molly in college when I was eighteen, we were reconnected in the most beautiful way seven years later when she reached out to me for her wedding imagery. I got to meet her fiancé, Jake, when I photographed their engagement session at Harlinsdale Farms outside of Franklin Tennessee. Since that day, I knew that their wedding was going to be incredible. They chose to have an intimate outdoor wedding in Nashville at Battle Mountain Farm. It’s always so interesting to me meeting a couple at their engagement and seeing how they interact together of course, but then on wedding day seeing how their families come together to make the day so special.
Battle Mountain Farm Wedding Photos
The fall colors at their outdoor venue, Battle Mountain Farm in Franklin, Tennessee, were showing completely. The light was so incredibly soft for their ceremony and they are some of my favorite ceremony photographs to date. After the ceremony we went into the field that Battle Mountain has to take outdoor sunset portraits in front of the mountains of Tennessee. Molly and Jake are so carefree and fun, it made for the most beautiful portraits just running around in the field and Jake spinning her around.
The fall in Tennessee is like no other season, everything at that time of year feels more romantic and beautiful. The leaves hang around golden and orange for so long, making October one of the most popular months to get married here in Nashville, Tennessee! It is an especially good time of year if you are going for the intimate outdoor vibe for your wedding!
Their Day was so Emotional
They chose to do a first look, and it was such a beautiful thing to witness. I always urge couples to have a first look. First looks are incredible because it’s almost like you get to have two special moments, instead of just the one you have when you see each other for the first time at the ceremony. I’m all about intentionality, especially within the wedding industry. A first look fosters a place of anticipation and genuine emotion. You have no regards to how the people in attendance will view your moment. It’s so private and intimate just about you two. Molly and Jake chose to read letters they had written to each other. They stood under the gazebo privately and had a moment uninterrupted. It was one of my favorite parts of their day.
After the Ceremony, Everyone sang Karaoke
They had karaoke at their reception which was a hit, provided by Unique Sounds and Equipment. They sang songs from High School Musical and it was so nostalgic and cutie!! And finally, at the end Jake had them run through a giant football sign labeled “The Browns” for their exit. Its hilarious to me because they are making the same exact face to me when they burst through the sign. It was so much fun to witness and I am so happy for them.
One of my favorite weddings of 2022, I can’t wait to photograph more intimate outdoor weddings here in Nashville. If you are getting married and looking for emotive and honest imagery, you can connect with me here.
