Whitefish, Montana is one of those places that instantly makes sense when you arrive. Tucked just outside of Glacier National Park, it offers the perfect blend of adventure, intimacy, and understated luxury. This wedding weekend was a true destination experience. Two full days of celebration surrounded by mountains, pine trees, and the people who mattered most.
Kelsey and Colton planned a two-day wedding weekend that felt relaxed and intentional while still being incredibly fun. Their celebration included time inside Glacier National Park for portraits, followed by days filled with mechanical bull riding, an intimate dinner, and a heartfelt ceremony back at their Whitefish Airbnb. This wedding was even featured by Montana Bride Magazine, which felt like such a fitting highlight for a weekend that was so thoughtfully designed.
The Whitefish Outpost: Airbnb Wedding Venue in Montana
The Whitefish Outpost served as the home base for the entire weekend. It was the perfect Airbnb wedding venue for an intimate destination celebration. With enough space for guests to gather, celebrate, and slow down together, it allowed the weekend to feel communal rather than rushed. Hosting the wedding at an Airbnb gave the couple flexibility to design their day exactly how they wanted. Getting married at The Whitefish Outpost felt personal and relaxed, with mountain views and quiet moments woven throughout the weekend.
Wedding Venues in Whitefish, Montana
Whitefish is one of my favorite towns to recommend to couples getting married near Glacier National Park. It’s a charming ski town with incredible scenery, great food, and easy access to the park. In addition to Airbnb venues like The Whitefish Outpost, there are several beautiful wedding venues in the area.
The Lodge at Whitefish Lake offers a classic Montana feel with lake views, cozy interiors, and a peaceful setting that works beautifully for traditional weddings and full-weekend celebrations.
Whitefish Mountain Resort is perfect for couples drawn to alpine views and a more adventurous atmosphere, with sweeping mountain backdrops and options for larger guest counts.
Ashley Lake Estates provides a secluded, elegant setting surrounded by nature, ideal for couples wanting a refined but private Montana wedding experience.
Glacier National Park Wedding Photos
One of the highlights of the weekend was spending time inside Glacier National Park for portraits. The weather that day was stormy and unpredictable, which is something Glacier is known for. Because I’ve photographed here many times, I’m familiar with how quickly conditions can change. We pivoted plans and explored some of my favorite locations closer to the east side of the park while waiting for the weather to clear.
The shifting skies added so much depth and drama to their photos. As the light softened, we captured lantern-lit blue hour portraits before Kelsey and Colton headed back to the Airbnb to rejoin their family and friends. These moments — adapting, slowing down, and leaning into what the day gives you — often become the most meaningful parts of a wedding story.
Whitefish Wedding Film Photos & Super 8 Film
This wedding weekend was documented with a mix of digital photography, 35mm film, and Super 8 film. Film felt especially fitting in Montana, where the landscapes feel timeless and untouched. The grain and warmth of 35mm film paired beautifully with the mountain setting, while Super 8 added movement and emotion that still images can’t fully capture.
From quiet mornings at the Airbnb to lantern-lit portraits and late-night celebrations, the film elements helped preserve the feeling of the weekend — not just how it looked, but how it felt.
Montana Wedding & Elopement Photographer
Whitefish is an incredible choice for couples wanting a destination wedding that balances adventure with intimacy. Being close to Glacier National Park allows for unforgettable portraits, while the town itself offers warmth, character, and flexibility for multi-day celebrations. I love helping couples plan wedding weekends in places like this, where the experience matters just as much as the ceremony.
