Nashville Backyard Wedding Inspiration | Olivia & Darby

This summer day for Olivia and Darby down in Rome, Georgia was one of the sweetest days of 2023. I took their engagement photos last fall at Bells Bend, one of my favorite engagement session locations in Nashville. And when Olivia first described her vision of getting married at her grandparents farm, I was so excited to be included in storytelling the visuals from her day. It was so sweet seeing all the family photographs on the wall of their home and knowing you’re making these heirloom tangible wedding photos in real time. They put so much thought into the details of their day and it was so beautiful. We made a vintage Super 8 Film to match the vintage vibe of her mismatched china and decor that was throughout the wedding.

How to Have a Backyard Wedding

The first step in planning your Nashville backyard wedding is finding the ideal location. Whether it’s your own backyard, a friend or family member’s property, or a rented venue with a beautiful outdoor space, consider the size, layout, and ambiance. Nashville’s lush greenery and mild climate make it conducive to outdoor events, but having a backup plan for inclement weather is essential. Many venues offer tents or covered areas that can be utilized if needed, ensuring your celebration can go on rain or shine.

When you are considering having a backyard wedding, there is a ton of planning that goes into the day. A lot of venues come with a day of coordinator, decor, and essentials like tables, chairs, etc!
