Golden larches. Mirror-like alpine lakes. Mountain peaks just dusted with snow. There’s truly nothing like Glacier National Park in the fall, and Ciara & Chris’s elopement day captured all of it—the calm, the color, and the quiet kind of magic that only Montana can deliver.
Fall Glacier National Park Elopement in Montana
Eloping in Glacier National Park feels like stepping into a storybook. With dramatic mountain backdrops, crystal-clear lakes, and endless golden trees in autumn, it’s the perfect setting for couples who want their wedding to feel adventurous, personal, and wildly beautiful.
Fall is hands down one of the best times to elope here. The summer crowds have faded, the colors are vibrant, and there’s a peaceful stillness in the air that makes every moment feel extra meaningful.
Getting Married in Many Glacier
Ciara & Chris chose to elope in the Many Glacier area of the park, one of the most iconic (and photogenic) regions in Glacier. From sweeping views at Swiftcurrent Lake to hidden forest trails and alpine meadows, every direction you look in Many Glacier feels like a postcard.
They exchanged vows with the lake behind them and golden trees all around. As the sun rose, the light crept over the peaks and lit up the whole valley in warm tones. It was one of those mornings where everything just clicked—the weather, the light, and the intention behind it all.
Many Glacier is ideal for couples who want big views without a full-day hike. It offers easy access to epic scenery and is especially stunning in the fall when the larches turn gold. For couples planning a sunrise ceremony, it’s also one of the most peaceful areas to catch first light.
Ciara & Chris’s Elopement Day
We started their day before sunrise, coffee in hand and layers packed for the mountain chill. They got ready separately but had their first look as the early light started to hit the peaks. From there, we explored the lakefront, a few forest trails, and a secret spot that gave us an open view of the mountains across the water.
They wrote personal vows and read them quietly to each other near the shoreline—a moment so simple, but full of meaning. After their ceremony, we captured portraits all around the valley, including a few fun shots with their vintage blankets and hand-tied florals.
Later in the day, we stopped at a second portrait location to catch the last of golden hour. Ciara & Chris weren’t just down for the adventure—they fully embraced it. Climbing over rocks, kicking off their boots, and soaking in the views together, every part of their day was filled with intention and presence.
Film Glacier Wedding Photos & Super 8 Video
One of my favorite parts of this elopement? The film.
Ciara & Chris added both 35mm film photos and a Super 8 wedding video to their package, and Glacier’s moody fall light made it the dreamiest combo.
The film photos brought out rich tones in the landscape—soft greens, deep blues, and golden light spilling across the peaks. And their Super 8 video? Pure nostalgia.
Film just hits differently—especially in national parks where everything already feels timeless. The grain, the movement, the way it slows you down. If you’re considering adding film to your wedding day, Glacier is one of the best places to do it.
